Highlander Training Center rests on 190 acres near Sulphur Springs, Texas, 80 miles east of Dallas. Highlander was founded on the core principle of forging champions.

Highlander Training Center sits within easy shipping distance of nine major racetracks, and we regularly ship horses to tracks in Kentucky, New York and across the country.

​At Highlander Training Center, we strive to produce winning horses through meticulous horsemanship, carefully balanced nutrition, complete veterinary diagnostics & care, and attention to detail. Our riders and grooms are also experienced professionals focused on bringing each individual horse to its maximum potential.

With more than 600 graduate winners in the most recent 36 months, our proven approach to breaking and training provides each horse a solid mental & physical foundation and what we believe is a competitive advantage when they get to the track.

We are also uniquely equipped to give older horses a break from the rigors of racing and bring them back to their peak of mental and physical preparedness. Highlander offers 11 large pastures as well as 16 paddocks and turn-out pens for layups and turn-outs. We then utilize our proven training and horsemanship skills along with our Fitness & Therapy Center modalities for a fresh and fit return to the races.

BREAKING
Everything we do at Highlander Training Center revolves around one thing: doing what is in the best interest of the horse. Our proven program for the breaking and early conditioning of young horses provides each horse the physical and mental preparedness for the racetrack.
The entire Team is focused on treating each horse as an individual, and providing them the individualized care they need to reach their maximum potential.
TRAINING
Highlander Training Center offers a full suite of services for horses of racing age. Our stalls come equipped with automatic waterers, corner feeders, oscillating fans, and rubber matted walls and floors. Each horse is cared for attentively with regular exercise and access to our fitness & therapy center. We carefully monitor the health of each horse through regular veterinary care, and nightly security checks are done for all horses.
PREPARING
We are also uniquely equipped to give older horses a break from the rigors of racing and bring them back to their peak of mental and physical preparedness. CARING
The Highlander Fitness & Therapy Center offers a complete suite of services including Cold Saltwater Spa, Aqua treadmills, Vibrating Floor Stalls, full veterinarian care and more. All Fitness & Therapy Center activities are led and conducted by a skilled and experienced staff in collaboration with veterinary involvement to develop and execute the best therapy program for your horse. Our team will also provide ongoing communication to you regarding your horse's progress.
