Highlander Training Center (HTC) has unveiled a remodeled and expanded racetrack to add to the state-of-the-art facilities at the Sulphur Springs, Texas Thoroughbred facility.
The new track is five-eights of a mile and features a 400-foot radius turn, similar in size to those on a one-mile oval. Dennis Moore, considered by many industry leaders as the premier racetrack design and construction expert in the world, served as consultant on the project.
The track has a new Duralock Safety Rail as well as base and cushion material tested by the prestigious Racing Surfaces Testing Laboratory of Lexington, Kentucky. Distance marker poles and a custom-designed finish line marker were constructed by Horsemen’s Track & Equipment of Louisville, Kentucky.

Highlander Training Center also features a 1 3/8ths mile turf gallop, a full Fitness & Therapy Center, three barns with 78 total stalls, 11 large pastures and 16 paddocks or turn-out pens.
