The new track is five-eights of a mile and features a 400-foot radius turn
Highlander Training Center (HTC) has unveiled a remodeled and expanded racetrack to add to the state-of-the-art facilities at the Sulphur Springs, Texas Thoroughbred facility.
The new track is five-eights of a mile and features a 400-foot radius turn, similar in size to those on a one-mile oval. Dennis Moore, considered by many industry leaders as the premier racetrack design and construction expert in the world, served as consultant on the project.
“We are extremely pleased to offer this new training track for our clients and their horses,” said Jeff Hooper, Chairman & CEO at Highlander. “The quality and safety of our track has always been of the utmost importance to us, and having this new expanded track truly raises our game to a new level.”
Highlander Training Center also features a 1 3/8ths mile turf gallop, a full Fitness & Therapy Center, three barns with 78 total stalls, 11 large pastures and 16 paddocks or turn-out pens.
Highlander Training Center rests on 190 acres near Sulphur Springs, Texas, 80 miles east of Dallas. Highlander was founded on the core principle of forging champions.
